English learners (ELs) often approach class discussions with apprehension. Despite caring educators inviting their contributions, we often fail to adequately prepare them to facilitate accountable engagement. This presentation will discuss learning strategies that teachers can immediately implement across all content areas, grades, and readiness levels to reduce student anxiety and encourage different modes of communication amongst students. Teachers can walk away with ideas to better support diversity, perspectives, and experiences in their classroom community. Educators looking to support their ELand Multi Language learners (MLLs) are encouraged to attend.
