This session is open to all teachers but the free takeaways will be most relevant to Biology or other Science teachers.
In this session, we will discuss how collective teacher efficacy and specific feedback can be used to guide PLC work and to target students in need of additional support. Session attendees will have access to site created CFA's available for immediate use in the classroom. In addition, there will be a number of Science writing performance tasks available. We will be presenting assessments used to on-board students as well as assess student understanding of the nature of science and properties of living organisms. These assessments may be used during the first few weeks of instruction. Teacher and student access to valid and reliable formative assessment tools have the potential to transform a science classroom into a safe and comfortable learning environment where taking risks and making mistakes are a normal part of learning.
