Biology teachers (or any discipline if you are interested), please join us for a honest, open discussion of the process our PLC is undertaking to implement a new NGSS aligned curriculum, Open Sci Ed. We are a PLC of 2 biology teachers and a special education biology co-teacher/science fundamentals teacher who will provide a candid overview of how our PLC is attempting to implement change and "let go" of what we have been doing. This will not be a session full of "buzz words" or "quotes". It will be a reflection on the student-centered process to develop multi-lingual learner strategies, supports for special education, formative assessments, teamwork strategies, vocabulary building, etc. while not becoming completely overwhelmed. Hopefully, you will leave feeling good about the work your PLC is doing and/or with some ideas on how to support your PLC work.
