Anyone looking to build positive relationships with students, motivate students, SEL work, academic and social achievement.
Participants will learn more about an asset-based lens via Strengths for working with students socially and academically. Case studies in presentation involve students in in-school suspension and English 9 classes, but skills can be transferred to any learner and any subject to educate the whole child. Personal development contributes to academic excellence. Strengths can contribute to positive motivational enhancements, be included on a resume, or help hone intra- and inter-personal skills.
We will present what constitutes a Strengths-Based school, how to use Strengths for positive interventions, and how to name, claim, and aim strengths to achieve personal and academic goals.
Presentation contributes to the pedagogy of equity, asset-based educational practices, SEL, and academic achievement.

Speakers
