Who should attend and why? Any WL teacher that teaches Spanish because this workshop will transform a classroom into a museum, which will be a lot of fun and very innovating. Using a thematic unit or thematic instruction also known as project approach involves organizing the curriculum around a theme or a rich and engaging topic that crosses all learning domains—for example, history, literature, art, cultures, social skills, and receptive and expressive language development. With thematic instruction, a class explores a theme together over a few days, weeks, or months helping students learn and understand the content better. El museo de la arquitectura, is a workshop that will go over Vygostky's Sociocultural theory to connect the importance of a thematic unit in a second language acquisiton classroom. We want to promote positive outcomes by having clear goals that align with the CA World Language Standards. Furthermore, it will offer teachers hands-on-activities that will help them explore different teaching strategies as well as how to get students ready to use a rubric when taking an oral and/or a written exam, helping students reflect and evaluate their own achivements and to better understand why their evaluation receive the score that it doid and what they need to improve.
